Each year, hundreds of individuals from Brooklyn Park and the surrounding communities come together on an autumn morning for the Brooklyn Park Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. This non-denominational gathering includes representatives from area businesses, schools, community organizations, churches and other interested citizens. Patterned after the National Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C., those who attend have the opportunity to participate in corporate prayer for the leaders of our community, state and nation. Other components of the morning’s program include a featured speaker, guest musicians, the reading of scripture, and highlighting a local organization.
This annual event is planned by a committee made up of Christian business and professional people who reside or work in Brooklyn Park and are active in the community and their churches.
The purpose of the Brooklyn Park Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is the public gathering and exaltation of seeking to know and honor God through prayer, music, speech, and God’s Word. We personally affirm our adherence to the spiritual principles taught in the Bible, upon which our nation was founded, and encourage prayer for our community, state, and national leaders. We are asking the Creator God for His continued wisdom and guidance and openly expressing our gratitude for His protection and blessings.
